Welcome to Dunsford District Elementary School! Dunsford District Elementary School is the proud home of the Stingers. The school opened in 1978, with 263 students and 14 teachers on staff. An increase in the school’s population resulted in an addition in December of 1989 – doubling the size of the school. The school currently has about 265 students. The staff consists of 14 teachers, 4 educational assistants, 2 custodians and 1 secretary.
Dunsford DES strives to provide an outstanding academic experience for its students. Our school’s dedicated staff also seek to provide a wide variety of extra-curricular activities for our students. Sports teams are fielded in cross-country, soccer, volleyball, basketball and track and field. A wide variety of other extra-curricular activities are also available to students, including plays (an annual Christmas Concert), the Leadership Group and a vibrant intramural sports program which runs throughout the year. The school community (students, parents and staff) generously supports a number of charities such as the Terry Fox Run, a Christmas Hamper Program and the Lindsay Animal Shelter. Staff, students and parents alike take great pride in our school and it shows!
