Young Writers Workshop Series @

Bethany, Fenelon Falls and Lindsay Libraries

The City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library is pleased to present a series of workshops for young writers which encourage children to write and illustrate their own books.

The Fenelon Falls Library workshops are scheduled for 6 pm every other Thursday.

The Lindsay Library workshops are scheduled for Tuesdays at 4 pm for eight consecutive weeks commencing on February 21.

The Bethany Library workshops will be held on Saturdays at 10 am for eight consecutive weeks commencing February 25.  This is the first time the Young Writers Workshop series has been presented at the Bethany branch.  The Library is pleased to be able to offer the program at this location.

Workshops will focus on generating an idea, creating a story outline, writing the story, establishing the book layout, including illustrations, and producing a completed book.  Suitable for children aged 8 years and up, writing workshops help to elevate self-esteem and create a positive outlook on books and reading.

More than 50 children have participated in the Library’s Young Writer Workshop Series and have written and illustrated their own books.  Many of these books are available in the Library where they can be read and borrowed by other library patrons.

For more information or to register for the program please call the Lindsay branch at 705 324-9411 ext 1332, the Fenelon Falls branch at 705 887-6300 or the Bethany branch at 705 277-2321.
